Royston Edward Gloy, 74, of rural Grant, Nebraska passed away on June 28, 2015 at Good Samaritan Hospital in Kearney, Nebraska.
Royston was born September 1, 1940 in Ogallala, NE. He was the first of three children born to Harold and Zelma (Pankonin) Gloy. Royston attended rural elementary school and graduated from Perkins County High School with the class of 1958.
Growing up Royston was active in 4-H, FFA and legion baseball. Royston was baptized on September 22, 1940 and confirmed June 6, 1954 at Trinity Lutheran Church, where he remained an active member his entire life.
After graduation he returned to the family farm North of Grant where he lived and worked for many years with his father and brothers. He enjoyed working with livestock and spending time with his niece and nephew on the farm. Royston had also helped at the Grant Sales Company for several years. He was an avid bowler and sports fan.
Royston had been dealing with many long-term health problems and passed away peacefully on June 28. He was preceded in death by his mother and father.
He is survived by his two younger brothers, Donald and wife Jorga Gloy and Robert Gloy, both of Grant, NE; his niece Kristen and husband Chad Hurley, great niece and nephew Paige and Carter Hurley of Sioux Falls, SD; nephew Brent and wife Angela, great nieces Meredith and Jacqueline, and great nephew Grant Gloy of Grant, NE.

Funeral services will be held Thursday July 2, 2015 at 10:30 a.m. at Trinity Lutheran Church southwest of Ogallala Nebraska, with Reverend Wayne Pick officiating. Burial to follow at the Trinity Lutheran Cemetery. Visitation will be on Wednesday, July 1, 2015 from 10 a.m. to 8 p.m. at Bullock-Long Funeral Home in Grant.
