MILDRED KELEMAN, 59, of Grant, NE, passed away Monday, September 27, 2021, at the Perkins County Hospital in Grant.
Millie was born in Germany to Melvin Earl and Beatrice (Machholz) Jahnke. She attended school in California.
As a girl, Millie moved between California and Hawaii, where she had lived with her sister, Dee.
In 1988, Millie married William Keleman, and their union would be blessed with a son, Geoffrey.
Millie had worked at a bakery and at Safeway in the Deli department while in California. Life would take her to Grant in 2001, where she worked at Subway and Dollar General. She also had worked at Denny's and Arby's in Ogallala for a time.
Millie was down-to-earth and caring. She had a joyful temperament that was easy to appreciate. Millie loved camping and playing cards, especially Euchre. She always had a special place in her life for animals, particularly her five cats and dog, Penny. A kind and welcoming heart with a humble demeanor, Millie will be missed by those who knew her.
Millie was preceded in death by her parents; and a sister, Dee Jahnke-Parker.
Survivors include her son, Geoffrey of Tempe, AZ; loving companion, Elijah Lee of Grant; siblings, Janet Witcher of CA, Audrey Muldoon of GA, Bunny Hanson of AZ; along with many other relatives and friends.
