Marcella Jean Witzki

MARCELLA WITZKI, 82 of Venango, NE, passed away Wednesday, October 7, 2015 at her home in Venango.

Marcella was born May 29, 1933 at Venango, Nebraska to Julian and Frieda (Dudden) Ogden. She graduated from Venango High School with the class of 1950.

Marcella had worked at Goodalls and TRW in Ogallala before moving to Billings, MT to work for the summer as a nanny. In December of 1953, Marcella married Marvin Witzki. The couple made their home in Venango. Marcella was a hard worker, and in addition to raising her children, worked at the Venango school and worked at the Best Western in Julesburg.

Marcella was an excellent quilter. She also enjoyed baking and decorating cakes and singing in the Adelines. She had also been involved with the Wife Organization. She was a long-time member of the St. Paul's Lutheran Church at Venango. Marcella absolutely loved doting over her great-grandchildren.

Marcella was preceded in death by her husband, Marvin in 2000; 4 brothers, Daniel, Glenn, Virgil and Aaron.

Survivors include her children, Jayne Witzki of Venango, Kim (Merry) Witzki of Gering; 2 grandchildren, Jared (Melissa) Potts Grant, Jennifer Potts (Joe Tatum) of Grant; 6 great-grandchildren, Josey, Elijah, Kenna, Rally, Riggin, Ryeker; partner, Dallas Schafer of Venango; 3 brothers, James Ogden of Papillion, Gary Ogden of Omaha, Lavern (Norma) Ogden Cheyenne, WY; and many other relatives and friends.

Memorials are suggested to the St. Paul's Lutheran Church in Marcella's memory. Condolences may be shared at bullocklongfuneralhome.com, where the service will also be streamed live for those unable to attend.

Services will be held on Monday, October 12, 2015 at 10:00 AM at St. Paul's Lutheran Church at Venango with Rev. Kurt Hatteberg officiating. Burial will be in the Venango Cemetery.

Visitation will be on from 1:00 PM to 5:00 PM on Sunday at the Bullock-Long Funeral Home in Grant.
