LETHA M. HARRIS, 99 of Grant, passed away Tuesday, August 11, 2020, at Golden Ours Convalescent Home in Grant.
Letha was born on October 3, 1920, to Roy E. and Nellie (Foster) Harrah in Davis County, Missouri. She attended schools starting at Kanorado, Kansas, and then in Colorado and ending up in Chase County, Nebraska. Letha received the Lord as her personal savior in 1931 and was later baptized in her faith.
She was united in marriage to Vernie McCoy on January 1, 1946, and to this union was born two sons, John LaVern, who died in infancy, and William "Bill" Roy, who passed from cancer at age 41. Vernie passed away in 1967, and two years later she was united in marriage to LeRoy Harris.
Most of Letha's life was spent on the farm, enjoying flowers, gardening, and all the farm animals and chickens. After LeRoy retired in 1974, they moved to Imperial, NE. They traveled and enjoyed several trips together before he passed in 1992 at the age of 81. Letha returned to Grant in 2004. Letha moved to Park Ridge in Grant in 2008 then in 2014 to the Golden Ours Convalescent home.
Letha was preceded in death by her parents; husbands, Vernie McCoy and LeRoy Harris; sons, John and William "Bill" McCoy; brother, Russell Harrah; and sister, Mary Gibbs.
Letha is survived by a daughter-in-law, Margaret Mccoy of Wauneta; grandchildren, Tammy (Jared) Wach of Ogallala, Vance (Ronda) McCoy of Elsie, Tiffany (Mike) Bley of Wauneta, Renee (Marty) Wheeler of Wauneta; 14 great-grandchildren; 3 great-great-grandchildren, sister, Margaret Gibbs of Haxtun, along with many nephews, nieces, friends, and neighbors.
A memorial has been established in Letha's memory to Youth Challenge and Golden Ours Convalescent Home. Condolences may be shared at bullocklongfuneralhome.com.
Funeral services will be Saturday, August 15, 2020, at 2:00 pm at the Grant Evangelical Free Church with Pastor Russ Gaar officiating. Interment will be in the Mount Hope Cemetery at Imperial.
