LARRY NIBLACK, 66 of Madrid, passed away Wednesday, December 13, 2017, at his home.
Larry was born January 6, 1951, in Benkelman, Nebraska to Emery L. and Louise A. (Swartz) Niblack. He graduated from Benkelman High School in 1969.
In 1972, Larry entered the U.S. Navy. Following his discharge in 1976, he married Gloria J. Ferguson at St. Augustine, Florida. The couple made their home in Benkelman where, at the age of 26, Larry became the Dundy County Sherriff. Following his tenure as Sherriff, Larry started Niblack Trucking. Larry primarily worked on contract with the USPS, transporting mail from Denver or Omaha. In 1998, the couple moved from Benkelman to Madrid. Larry had retired from trucking in 2016.
Larry was all about work and his family. Like any grandpa, Larry cherished the time he could spend with his grandchildren and great-grandchild. Larry also loved his cats, who he liked to spoil.
Larry was preceded in death by his parents and a brother, Mark.
Survivors include his wife, Gloria of Madrid; 2 daughters, Kellee of Crete, Megan of Cincinnati, OH; 5 grandchildren, Katelyn, Noah, Brayden, Breahanna, and Jayde; 1 great-grandchild, Holden; 3 sisters, Virginia, Patsy and Joanna; along with several other relatives and friends.

Larry has been cremated, per his wishes. Interment of cremains will be at the Ft. McPherson National Cemetery at a later date.
