Larry L. Larsen, 72, of Burnet, Texas died August 19th, 2015 at St David's Hospital, Georgetown, Texas.
He was born on October 12, 1942, in Perkins County Nebraska, to Lawrence William and Florence Belle Phair Mickels. Following his graduation from Grant High School in 1960, Larry served in the US Air Force until his honorable discharge in 1964. He later attended the Colorado State University at Fort Collins where he graduated with a BA in Business. He acquired a Master of Science degree in Computer Information Systems from the University of Phoenix in 1996.
He was employed by Bendix in Kansas City and later worked for Sandia National Laboratories in Albuquerque until his retirement in 2008. He married Patricia Kropp nee Hoffman in 1965 and two children were born of the marriage, Timothy Scott and Shannon Dee. He married Suzanne Burgess in Albuquerque, New Mexico in 1990. Upon retirement in 2008, Larry and Suzanne moved from Albuquerque, New Mexico to Burnet, Texas. In February 2011, Larry was completely paralyzed in a motor vehicle accident.
Larry is preceded in death by his parents, a sister Lillian Jones and a brother, Keith Larsen and brothers-in-law, Owen and Everett Jones.
He is survived by his wife, Suzanne, of Burnet, Texas, his son Timothy and wife Christina, and grandchildren Corrine, Ian and Olivia of Tulsa, Oklahoma, by daughter Shannon and her husband Mike Myers and grandchildren Mary Anne, Troy and Audrey of Katy, Texas, by stepdaughter Jane Perry and granddaughters Mikalee and Rachel, of Albuquerque, New Mexico, and by stepdaughter Sara Schlegelmilch and husband Jay Reichert, grandson Paul Schlegelmilch, fiancé Kinsey Baggett and great grandson Liam, and by grandson Nick Cano, all of Marble Falls Texas, and by his sister, Lois Jones and sister-in-law, Betty Larsen, of Grant, Nebraska, and by brother Ron Larsen and wife Kay Larsen of San Antonio, Texas, and numerous aunts, uncles, cousins, and friends.
A memorial has been established in Larry's memory. Condolences may be shared at bullocklongfuneralhome.com, where the service will be streamed live for those unable to attend.
A Memorial service will be held at the Grant United Methodist Church on Saturday, September 5, 2015 at 10:00 AM, with Pastor Nora Mendyk officiating. Interment of cremains will follow at the Grant Fairview Cemetery.
