Kathy Bottom, 86, of Grant, passed away on January 16, 2023, at the Imperial Manor.
Kathy was born to Oscar Leroy and Evelyn (Nelson) McLaughlin in Pryor, Oklahoma, on April 20, 1936
She married Tom Johnson, and to this union, three children were born, daughter Donell and sons David and Bradley. They later divorced.
Kathy met the true love of her life, Dr. Paul Bottom, and they were married in January of 1968, and the family grew to seven children adding, Janet, Steve, Mark, and Wayne.
Kathy accepted Jesus as her savior in her younger adult years, and that was her foundation for the remainder of her life. She was a long-time member of the New Life Fellowship Church in Grant.
Although she did not have a lot of formal education, she joined Dr. Paul in language school in Belgium and learned French prior to going into the mission field in the Congo for six years alongside of Paul.
Kathy had a heart for people and lived a life of service to God, her family, church, and friends, both here and in Africa. She will be loved and missed by many.
Kathy was preceded in death by her parents, her husband of nearly 50 years, Dr. Paul Bottom; brothers, James, Jack, and Tom; sister, Norma Carpenter of Idaho; & son, Steve.
Kathy is survived by her four sons: David Johnson of Ogallala, Brad (Faye) Johnson of Grant, Mark (Renae) Bottom of Grant, and Wayne (Karri) Bottom of Denver; two daughters, Donell (Bruce) Geisert of Grant, Janet (Glenn) Griffin of Billings, MT; sister, Hazel Bittick of Idaho; 17 grandchildren; and numerous great-grandchildren.

Services will be held on Tuesday, January 24, 2023, at 11:00 am at the New Life Fellowship Church in Grant, with Pastor John Goodell officiating. Interment will be in the Grant Fairview Cemetery.
Visitation will be on Monday, from 1 pm until 6 pm, at the Bullock-Long Funeral Home in Grant.
