Katherine Woodhead

Katherine (Katie) Woodhead, 83 of Pahrump, NV, formerly of Grant, passed away peacefully on September 22, 2020 in Pahrump, NV.

Katherine was born on August 16, 1937 in Lexington, NE to Walter and Leona (Welliver) Renker. She attended school in the Lexington, NE school system.

Katie previously lived in Nebraska, Denver, Wisconsin, and Nevada making dear friends along the way. Katie was united in marriage to William Dodge and was blessed with one child, Terry. The couple were later divorced. She was then married to Allen Briggs and was blessed with two children, Allen and Marta. After the divorce of Katie and Al, she was reunited with William Dodge and they lived a wonderful life together raising their children and running their cash register business. He unexpectedly passed away in 1988. A few years later, Katie's sister Dixie brought her back to her home state of Nebraska to live in Arthur. Dixie owned a bar and Katie enjoyed working there beside her sister. While working, she met the next love of her life, Wallace (Wally) Woodhead. They were joined in marriage in Ogallala, NE in 2004. The couple resided in Ogallala before moving to Grant. The couple enjoyed camping, gardening, attending grandchildren's events and Husker football games.

Katherine was preceded in death by two husbands, William Dodge, and Wally Woodhead; as well as her brother Robert (Cobbie) Renker, and sisters Janice Eaton, Phyllis Fravel, and later Dixie Thompson; her daughter-in-law Laurie Briggs.

Survivors include her children, Terry Dodge of Pahrump, NV and his children, Joshua (Melody) Zimmerman and their children Michael, Kaden, Brianna, and Winter of Friendship, WI, Crystal (Jeremy) Dodge and their children Gabby, Michael, Gage, (Remi) Remington, Lilly, and Gunner of Mauston, WI, Marta (Jim) Scolaro, and their daughters Bailee & Marina of Ponte Vedra Beach, FL, and Allen Briggs of Pahrump, NV; her brother Glenn (Buddy) Renker; Wally's children, daughters, Marilyn (Rick) Brodbeck of Ainsworth, Neb., Karen (Dan) Farnham of Grant, and Shari (Doug) Sexson of Grant; son, Mike (Deb) Woodhead of Grant; grandchildren, Heather (Cody) Stec, Cory (McKenzie Owen) Brodbeck, Troy Brodbeck, all of Ainsworth, Marsha (Dan) Gusmerotti of Denver, Cody (Brooke) Lee of Grant, Joshua (Lauren) Sexson of North Platte, Jacob (Maggie) Sexson of Lincoln, Jarrett Woodhead of Holyoke, and Danielle (Jason) Day; great-grandchildren Grant Stec, Rowan, Rieken and Lainey Lee, Sutton Owen, Jaxson and Cole Day and future child of Joshua and Lauren Sexson; Wally's sisters Lorene Shear of Scottsbluff and Jeanne (Fred) Shelor of Omaha; other dear family members and friends Deanna Zimmerman, Chelsea Zimmerman, Lisa Phillips, and Raymond Sparrow, Amado Diaz, Thomas Wolkinger and many other dear friends and family.

Graveside services will be held on Saturday, July 31, 2021 at 2pm at Fairview Cemetery in Grant with the family officiating.
