Kami Kay Krajewski, 55, of Grant, Nebraska, was called home on May 27, 2023, at the Perkins County Hospital in Grant.
Kami was born on July 31, 1967, in Rushville, Nebraska to Robert and Karen (Carter) Palmer, as one of five children.
After graduating from Rushville High School in 1985, Kami pursued her higher education at Chadron State College, where she graduated with an Early Childhood Development degree. She married the love of her life Terry Krajewski on September 11, 1999, at the Grant Methodist Church. The couple established their home north of Brandon.
Kami dedicated nearly her entire life to child care and preschool education. She ran “M.U.M.’s” a church-affiliated preschool while she lived in Rushville, "Hugs and Teddy Bears," daycare in Grant, and also served the children of Venango School. The arrival of her beloved son Carter in 2002 only intensified her passion for children. She offered home daycare until Carter began his education.
A woman of many talents, Kami was an exemplary preschool teacher at Perkins County School. She was a gifted music enthusiast who had been part of a group in Rushville known as "The Classie Lassies." She was a lover of karaoke and met Terry over their shared love of the pastime. She and Terry even successfully ran a karaoke business for several years. Kami was a connoisseur of a good glass of wine and was known for her incredible laughter, her unparalleled gift-giving, and her love for scrapbooking and animals, especially her dogs. Kami was a talented cook, and her dishes always brought joy to those who tasted them.
A devoted mother to Carter, Kami was actively involved in his life, attending his sporting events and speech meets. Her love for Carter, her selflessness, and her caregiver spirit were the heart and soul of her life.
As a uterine cancer survivor, Kami remained a pillar of strength throughout her life, proving that her spirit was as strong as her warm and caring heart. In her memory, Kami wished for everyone to wear pink, a testament to her journey and her courage.
Kami is preceded in death by her grandparents and two nieces, Kyla Kay Vincent and Chelsey Dawn Palmer; her father-In-law, Edwin Krajewski, mother-in-law, LaVonna Krajewski and niece Maya Bibins.
