Donna Lundvall

April 19, 1931 — January 1, 2025

Donna Jean Lundvall, of Grant, passed away on January 1, 2025, at the Perkins County Hospital.

Donna was born April 19, 1931, on the family farm southeast of Wallace to Hallie and Pearl (Strawder) Trusty. She attended rural school in the area before graduating from Wallace High School.

On April 8, 1949, Donna married Donald G. Lundvall at the Wallace Methodist Church parsonage. The couple farmed near Wallace until the Fall of 1966, when they moved to Grand Island. In addition to working as a nurse aide, Donna served in school cafeterias for many years, including Nebraska Christian School in Central City and the Grand Island Public School.

Following retirement in 1991, Donna and Don became active in the Roving Volunteers in Christ's Service (RVICS), where they traveled to assist at Christian camps and colleges, and made many good friends over the years.

In 1995, the couple moved to Grant to be closer to family, where they became active members of the Grant Evangelical Free Church. They loved their church and the church family they gained as followers of Christ.

Donna was pretty soft-spoken, but those who knew her well could attest to her snarky sense of humor and sassy personality. She was a behind-the-scenes personality but relished the moments when her family gathered, soaking up all the "Grammy" time she could get.

Donna was preceded in death by her parents; husband, Don; daughter, Janice Rawlings; granddaughter, Heidi Franklin; and her siblings.

Survivors include her children, Karen (Dean) Franklin of Wallace, NE; Tim (Cindy) Lundvall of Wallace, NE; Kelli (Scott) Holechek of Lincoln, NE; 10 grandchildren; 28 great-grandchildren; 9 great-great-grandchildren; along with many other relatives and friends.

A memorial has been established in Donna's memory for later designation. Condolences may be shared at bullocklongfuneralhome.com, where the services will be streamed live.

Services will be on Monday, January 6, 2025, at 11:00 a.m. at the Grant E-Free Church with Pastor Russ Gaar officiating. Interment will be in the MorningView Cemetery at Wallace.

Visitation will be on Sunday, from 1 p.m. until 4 p.m., at the Bullock-Long Funeral Home in Grant.
