DELORES J. DAVIS, 83 of Grant, NE, passed away Thursday, July 30, 2020, at Golden Ours Convalescent Home in Grant.
Delores was born November 23, 1936, at Nodaway, Missouri to Franklin W. and Ruth (Stinnette) Miller.
Delores enjoyed fishing, sewing, crocheting, crafting, owls, and horses. She had a creative mind and an eye for the beautiful, whether it was found in art, nature, or people. Delores had a stubborn streak that was formidable to those involved, and somewhat impressive to the spectator. She kept the people around her on their toes but nearly always laughing and smiling. Delores was playful and flirty, spirited, and rebellious. She took great pride in her Native American heritage and held a special appreciation for their art. Delores loved horses. She enjoyed a good tattoo and had many works of body art herself. Delores didn't waste energy being something she wasn't; rather, she had a "take it or leave it" sensibility about her. While undoubtedly mischievous at times, people always seemed to connect with Delores because of her authenticity.
Delores was preceded in death by her parents; daughter, Jenny Viola Dominguez; husband, George Frank Dominguez; son, Craig Massey; great-grandson, Frank George Dominguez; siblings, Alvin Webster Miller, Allen Franklin Miller, and Joseph William Miller.
Survivors include her son, George Dominguez II of Moorehead, MN; grandchildren, Sylvia (Tommy) Smith of North Platte, Crystal Brett Gartrell of Dickens, Tina (Kent) Kuchera of Bassett, George (Esmeralda) Dominguez III of Yankton, SD, Autumn (Andy) Hanzes of Hemmingford, and Haley Dominguez of Hemmingford; 13 great-grandchildren; brother, Howard Glen (Linda) Miller of Hastings; sons, Joel Massey of Brewster, and Edward Massey of Norfolk, and many other relatives and friends.
A memorial has been established in Delores' memory for later designation. Condolences may be shared at bullocklongfuneralhome.com.
Memorial services will be held on Saturday, August 15, 2020, at 10:00 a.m. at the Legion Hall in Wallace. Interment of Cremains will be in the Dickens Cemetery.
