CLEMENTINE "CLEM" HANSEN, 92 of Grant, NE, passed away Tuesday, May 3, 2016

Clem was born February 25, 1924 in Craig, Nebraska to Alvin and Nelle Mae (Peasley) Davis. In the late 1920's, Clem and her family moved to the Tekamah and Lincoln areas where she eventually graduated from Lincoln Northeast High School in 1942.
On June 17, 1944, Clem married Toby Hansen in San Francisco, CA. Their union was blessed with 1 daughter, Judy. Clem worked at the American Optical Department in San Francisco. While Toby was serving in the U.S. Navy, he was reassigned to Chicago where Clem was employed by Dowe Optical.
After Toby's discharge in 1946, the couple made their home in Lincoln where Clem worked in the Optical Department at Golds Dept Store. They later moved to Creighton, and eventually Grant in 1951. The couple relocated to Blair for nearly 20 years before returning to Grant in 1989, where they lived the rest of their married lives.
Clem was a member of the Order of The Eastern Star as well as P.E.O. and was a Seventy Year member of the United Methodist Church. She spent countless hours over the years working on genealogy and had entire bookshelves filled with information on the family heritage. In addition to being the keeper of the family history, she was also the keeper and collector of family heirlooms including dolls, cups, saucers, plates and
various other antiques. She and Toby liked to entertain, dance, and in younger years,
would often go dancing a couple times a week. They shared a common interest in community theater, and were both quite active in local productions when possible. She also enjoyed traveling, especially their camper. Clem will be greatly missed by those who knew and loved her.
