Andrew Brown

ANDREW "ANDY" BROWN, 64, of Grant, passed away at the Perkins County Hospital in Grant.

Andy was born September 5, 1957, at Atwood, Kansas, to Anthon and Mary (Eby) Brown. He graduated from Herndon High School with the class of 1976.

Andy worked at the hose plant in McCook for a time before relocating to Fort Morgan, Colorado, where he worked at a packing plant.

In 1986, Andy moved to Imperial, where he went to work as a farm and ranch hand for Ernest Martin. On September 11, 1994, Andy was united in marriage to Carol Sines, and the couple continued to make their home in Imperial. Most recently, the couple moved to Grant to be closer to family. Andy also proudly served in the National Guard for 20 years.

Andy loved to fish whenever he got the chance. In his younger days, he also enjoyed hunting and playing golf. Once his grandchildren were born, they added a new dimension to his life that he greatly cherished.

Andy was preceded in death by his parents, step-son, Alan Wagner, brother Tim Brown, and a nephew, Anthony Brown.

Survivors include his wife, Carol Brown of Grant; children, Heath (Renee) Brown of McCook, Teresa (Tim) Ledford of Grant, Sheena (Daniel) Smith of Grant, Crystal Wagner of Imperial, Kayla (Tom) Prosser of Grant; as well as 16 grandchildren.

Survivors also include his siblings, Tony Brown of Imperial, Rose (Bruce) Eskew of Buffalo City, KS, Lori (John) Todd of Centennial, CO, Karen (Dean) VanVleet of Manhattan, KS, Mike (Bonnie) Brown of McCook; many nieces, nephews, other relatives, and friends.

A memorial has been established in Andy's memory for later designation. Condolences may be shared at prairiehillsfuneralhome.com (where the services will be streamed live).

Services will be held on Saturday, June 18, 2022, at 3 pm at the Zion Lutheran Church in Grant, with Rev. Michael Heckmann officiating. No inurnment is planned at this time.

Bullock-Long Funeral Home of Grant is in charge of arrangements.
