ALICE JANTZEN, 98 of Grant, NE, passed away Monday, October 31, 2016 at the Golden Ours Convalescent Home in Grant.
Alice was born February 15, 1918 4 miles north of Henderson, Nebraska to Henry and Lena (Kornelsen) Kroeker. She graduated from the Madrid High School and went on to attend Tabor College, where she earned her teaching certification.
On April 10, 1941, Alice married Franklin E. Jantzen. The couple moved to Los Angeles, CA for 8 months before moving to Paxton, Nebraska, where they farmed. In 1950, the couple moved to a farm north of Madrid, where they lived until retiring in 1998.
Alice was an excellent cook. The family made many wonderful memories over meals that Alice had prepared over the years. She enjoyed quilting, gardening and both crossword and jigsaw puzzles. Alice also enjoyed the occasional board game, especially when she was playing with her grandchildren and great grandchildren.
Alice came to trust in Jesus Christ as her savior at a young age, she chose New Life Fellowship in Grant to be her church. She had taught Sunday School and was involved in Bible Study for many years.
Alice was preceded in death by her brother, Harold and sister, Lorma Weibe.
Survivors include her husband of 75 years, Frank Jantzen of Grant; son, Lloyd (Sharon) Jantzen of North Platte; 3 grandchildren, Jerred (Sharon) Jantzen of Arroyo Grande, CA, Cindy (Jarret) Malmkar of Grant, Dave (Val) Jantzen of Madrid; 13 great grandchildren; sister, Donna (Jim) Enns of Fresno, CA; and a host of other relatives and friends.
Memorials are suggested to KJLT Radio of North Platte in Alice's memory. Condolences may be shared at bullocklongfuneralhome.com, where the service will be streamed live for those unable to attend.
Memorial services will be held on Saturday, November 12, 2016 at 1:00 p.m. at the New Life Fellowship Church in Grant with Pastor John Goodell officiating. Interment of cremains will follow in the Madrid Cemetery.
