Adrian Gasseling, 74 of Grainton, passed away December 24, 2015 at the Perkins County Hospital in Grant.
Adrian was born November 10, 1941 at Alliance, Nebraska to Marcus B. and Agnes A. (Hovarka) Gasseling. He graduated from the Nebraska College of Technical Agriculture at Curtis in 1959.
On October 27, 1962, Adrian married Marion Abbott at Hay Springs, Nebraska. Their union was blessed with 4 children, Denise, Jerry, Todd and Justin. The couple made their home at Hemingford, where they farmed and ranched with Adrian's parents before moving to Potter in 1980, where Adrian worked at Crossroads Cooperative. In 1992, they moved to the Grainton area, where Adrian worked as the feed manager at the Hi-Line Cooperative at Elsie. Following his retirement in 2003, the couple enjoyed traveling.
Adrian enjoyed spending time outdoors, hunting, fishing, camping and spending time with family. He had a wonderful sense of humor and was always entertaining to be around. Adrian enjoyed spending a few years as an auctioneer before his career got started at the Co-Op. Adrian was quite handy and liked to tinker. One of his favorite projects involved crafting things from old horseshoes.
Adrian was preceded in death by his parents; parents-in-law, Orville and Norabelle Abbott; brothers-in-law and sister-in-law, Bob and (Marie) Golightly; Harold Cotant and Wayne Farrar.
Survivors include his wife, Marion of Grainton; daughter, Denise (Gary) Wieser of Potter; sons, Jerry (Brenda) Gasseling of Potter, Todd (Tammy) Gasseling of Madrid, Justin (Beth) Gasseling of Caldwell, ID; 9 grandchildren, John Monheiser, Tandy (Colt) McCarty, Jeremy (Kayla) Gasseling, Brandon Gasseling, Tim (Cassie) Gasseling, Teresa (Conrado) Montelongo, Tiffany Gasseling, Ashley Valerio and Devin Fletcher; 11 great grandchildren; sister, Delores Farrar of Hemingford; brother-in-law, Jim (Sandy) Abbott of Hay Springs; a very special nephew, Bill (Angel) Abbott of Dalton and family; along with many other relatives and friends.
A memorial has been established in Adrian's memory, with the intention of supporting the Elsie, Wallace and Grant E.M.S. Condolences may be shared at bullocklongfuneralhome.com, where the service will be streamed live for those unable to attend.
Memorial services will be on Wednesday, December 30, 2015 at 10:00 AM at the Mother of Sorrows Catholic Church in Grant with Father Tom Kuffel officiating. No interment of cremains is planned at this time.
